크리스마스

저는 (모린) 또다시 하느님 아버지의 성심이라고 알게 된 큰 불꽃을 봅니다. 하느님 아버지께서 말씀하십니다. “나의 자녀들아, 오늘 주님의* 탄생을 축하하면서 매 순간은 내가 너희에게 주는 특별한 선물임을 깨달아라. 어떤 순간은 더욱 깊은 회심의 체험으로 가는 문을 열어줄 수도 있고, 또 어떤 현 순간은 과거의 누군가를 – 심지어 너희 자신이나 너희가 회개하기 전에 저질렀던 어떤 죄들을 – 용서하도록 너희의 마음을 움직일 수도 있다. 현 순간은 너희를 향한 나의 사랑을 더욱 깊이 이해할 수 있는 은총을 품고 있을 수도 있고, 어려움에서 벗어나 나의 품 안으로 들어올 수 있는 은총을 지니고 있을 수도 있다. 현 순간은 이 크리스마스날, 내가 너희 하나하나에게 주는 나의 선물이다. 하루하루를 살아가며 너희 삶 속의 현 순간의 영향들을 깨달을 수 있도록 기도하여라.”

착각하지 마십시오. 하느님은 우롱당하실 분이 아니십니다. 사람은 자기가 뿌린 것을 거두는 법입니다. 자기의 육에 뿌리는 사람은 육에서 멸망을 거두고, 성령에게 뿌리는 사람은 성령에게서 영원한 생명을 거둘 것입니다. 낙심하지 말고 계속 좋은 일을 합시다. 포기하지 않으면 제때에 수확을 거두게 될 것입니다. 그러므로 기회가 있는 동안 모든 사람에게, 특히 믿음의 가족들에게 좋은 일을 합시다.

크리스마스날

복되신 동정 마리아께서 말씀하십니다. “찬미 예수.”

“사랑하는 자녀들아, 오늘 나는 너희가 성탄일을 잘 보내기 바라며 너희에게 가장 좋은 것만 바란다. 가장 좋은 것이란 언제나 마음의 평화다. 평화는 자기만을 위한 사랑의 날개를 타고 다가오지 않는다. 평화는 거룩한 사랑의* 열매다. 온 인류 사이의 모든 갈등과 모든 새로운 질병들, 가난과 서로에 대한 일반적인 무관심 등은 모두 무질서한 자기만을 위한 사랑에서 비롯된 나쁜 열매다. 만약 모든 이가 그들 마음 중심에 그리스도를 모시고 있었다면 오늘날 세상에는 전쟁이나 거짓 종교, 악마의 영향이 존재하지 않았을 것이다.”

“너희가 너희 마음의 평화의 원수를 알아보는 법을 배우지 못하면 너희는 그 적과 싸울 수 없다. 원수란 너희 마음에 동요를 일으키고 너희로 하여금 사람들과 상황과 죄에 반대하는 모든 것에 대해 불평불만을 늘어놓게 만드는 자다. 이 원수는 결코 쉬지 않으며, 늘 돌아다니면서 사람들의 마음이 계속해서 혼란스러운 상태에 머무르게 한다. 오늘, 내 아드님께서 힘없는 어린아이로 지상에 오시어 추위에 시달리고 구유의 수모를 겪으시면서 한 마디 (불평의) 말씀을 하실 수도 있었지만 그렇게 하지 않으셨던 것을 기억하며 너희의 성탄일을 시작하여라.”

“내 아드님은 당신의 삶을 구유에서부터 봉헌하셨으며, 그것은 십자가 위에서 돌아가실 때까지 계속되었다. 이 성탄일에 구유 장면을 묵상하면서, 나의 갓난 아드님이 내 가슴에 기대어 쉬시면서 장차 자신에게 일어날 모든 일을 알고 계셨다는 것을 묵상하여라. 나는 그때 그분을 내 품에 안아 드렸다. 오늘 나는 너희가 너희 마음속에서 그분을 안아 드리도록 초대한다.”

그들이 거기에 머무르는 동안 마리아는 해산 날이 되어, 첫아들을* 낳았다. 그들은 아기를 포대기에 싸서 구유에 뉘었다. 여관에는 그들이 들어갈 자리가 없었던 것이다.

* 맏아들 (first-born): 아들의 사회적 지위와 상속 권리에 관련된 법률 용어 (신명 21:15-17 참조). 이것은 마리아에게 예수님 다음으로 다른 자녀들이 있었다는 의미가 아니라 예수님 전에는 어떤 자녀도 없었다는 뜻입니다 (교리서 제500조항). 예수님께서는 성부의 외아들이시기 때문에 성부의 맏아들도 되십니다 (요한 1:18, 콜로 1:15 참조. 마태 12:46 주석 참조).

크리스마스날

복되신 동정 마리아께서 말씀하십니다. “찬미 예수.”

“사랑하는 자녀들아, 나는 오늘 너희가 크리스마스를 기념하면서 잠시 나와 함께 시간을 거슬러 올라가 보기 바란다. 첫 번째 크리스마스는 사람들의 마음속 부정직함으로 인해 큰 분쟁 속에 있었던 세상에 찾아왔다. 이 사람들은 갓 태어난 왕과 세상을 나누고 싶지 않았던 자들, 백성들을 위해서 나라를 이끌었던 것이 아니라 자기 자신만을 위해 나라를 다스렸던 자들이었다. 그러나 내 아들은 요란함 없이 겸손한 모습으로 마구간에서 태어났다. 그분의 현존은 모든 선물을 능가하였다.”

“요즘 시대는 내 아들이 마구간에서 태어나 내 품에 안겨 있었던 그 시대와 거의 똑같다. 요즘 세상에도 정치적 불안이 존재하며, 사람들은 미래의 천국 시민들이 아니라 이 세상에 속한 사람들처럼 살아가고 있다. 그들은 아기 예수를 그들의 마음속에서 다른 무엇보다도 가장 중요하게 여기는 대신 자기 자신에게만 빠져 있다. 또한 부정직은 진리로서 사람들에게 제시되고 있다. 지금 이 시대는 과거 그 어느 시대보다도 더 사악한 시대다. 대부분의 경우, 하느님의 계명은 발 아래 짓밟히고 있다.”

“여전히 귀를 기울이고 있는 거룩한 ‘남은 신자들’아, 나는 오늘 너희와 함께 이 날을 기념한다. 너희야말로 예수를 너희 마음속과 크리스마스의 중심에 모시는 이들이다. 너희는 선함(goodness)에 대해서 기뻐한다. 나는 진리에 대한 너희의 충실함을 보면서 기쁘고 감사하는 마음으로 너희와 함께 이 날을 경축한다. 오늘날 전례 없는 문제들 때문에 걱정하지 마라. 나는 이 (크리스마스) 시즌의 기쁨을 너희와 함께 기념하고 있다.”

Christmas Day

Once again, I (Maureen) see a Great Flame that I have come to know as the Heart of God the Father. He says: "My children, today, as you celebrate the Birth of the Lord,* realize that every present moment is a special gift from Me to you. Perhaps the moment opens the doorway to a deeper conversion experience. Perhaps the present moves you to forgiveness of someone in the past - even yourself and some sins you committed before your conversion. The present may hold the grace for you for a deeper understanding of My Love for you. It may hold the grace of a way out of difficulties and coming into My Embrace. The present moment is My Gift to each of you on this Christmas Day. Pray to recognize its effects in your life as each day wears on."

Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.  For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption; but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.  And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart.  So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Christmas Day

The Blessed Virgin Mary says: "Praise be to Jesus."

"Dear children, today, I offer you the best wishes of the day. The best is always peace of heart. Peace does not come to you on the wings of self-love. Peace is the fruit of Holy Love.* All the conflict amongst mankind, all the new diseases, the poverty and man's general disregard for each other, is the bad fruit of disordered self-love. You would not have wars, false religions or any diabolical influence in the world today if Christ was at the center of every heart."

"You cannot fight the enemy of your peace of heart unless you learn to recognize him. The enemy is he who causes your unrest and dissatisfaction with people, circumstances and all that opposes sin. This enemy never rests, is always on the prowl and keeps the heart in turmoil. Today, begin your Christmas by recalling how My Son** came to earth as a helpless child - suffered the cold and indignities of the manger and did not speak, although He could have."

"His offering of His Life began in the manger and continued on until His Death on the Cross. As you contemplate the manger scene this Christmas, consider how My Infant Son knew all that lay ahead of Him as He rested against My Breast. I held Him in My Arms then. I invite you to hold Him in your hearts today."

And she gave birth to her first-born* son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

* 2:7 first-born: A legal term linked with a son's social standing and rights of inheritance (Deut 21:15-17). It does not imply that Mary had other children after Jesus, only that she had none before him (CCC 500). As the only begotten One, Jesus is also the first-born Son of the Father (Jn 1:18; Col 1:15). See note on Mt 12:46.

Christmas Day

The Blessed Virgin Mary says: "Praise be to Jesus."

"Dear children, today as you celebrate Christmas, I would like you to step back in time with Me for a moment.  The first Christmas dawned on a world in much strife due to dishonesty in hearts - hearts which did not want to share the world with a newborn King - hearts which did not lead for the sake of the people, but ruled for themselves.  Yet, My Son arrived humble in a stable without fanfare.  His was a presence which out-measured any gift that could be given."

"These days are much the same as the times when My Son arrived in My Arms in the stable.  There is political unrest.  People are living as part of the world - not as future citizens of Heaven.  They do not allow the infant Jesus to be first and foremost in their hearts, but are in love with themselves.  Dishonesty is presented to the people as the Truth.  These times are more evil than any in the past.  For the most part God's Commandments have been trampled upon."

"For the Holy Remnant still listening, I celebrate with you today.  You are the ones who make Jesus the center of your hearts and the center of Christmas.  You are joyful for the sake of goodness.  I celebrate with joy and gratitude as I see your faithfulness to the Truth.  Do not be troubled today by unprecedented problems.  I am celebrating with you - the joy of the season."
