크리스마스 이브

저는 (모린) 또다시 하느님 아버지의 성심이라고 알게 된 큰 불꽃을 봅니다. 하느님 아버지께서 말씀하십니다. “자녀들아, 오늘은 내 아들의 탄생일이다. 나는 요셉이 내 갓난 아들을 위해 준비한 초라한 구유 곁을 함께 지키자고 너희를 초대한다. 비할 데 없는 사랑과 경의로 갓 태어난 왕을 맞이하는 성모 마리아의 거룩한 평온함을 주시하여라. 신성한 아기는 단 한 번도 울지 않으며, 그 대신 사랑 가득한 눈길로 어머니의 눈을 깊이 들여다본다.”

“마치 시간이 멈춰 서 버린 듯하다. 고요함마저도 어린 아기에게 경의를 표하는 듯이 보인다. 그때 천상의 합창 소리가 온 주변에서 들려온다. 마치 영원이 지상에, 이 마구간으로 내려온 것 같다. 그곳에 있는 것은 오직 만족감과 경외심뿐이다. 주변 환경조차도 예수가 태어날 때 변화되었다. 어떤 추위도, 악취도, 어둠도 없으며, 가축들마저 예수에게 경의를 표하는 것처럼 보인다.”

“나는 경탄스러운 이 날을 너희가 잘 경축하도록 도와주기 위해 하나의 선물로서 이 순간을 너희와 함께 나눈다. 이 시즌 동안 크리스마스를 기념하는 너희의 모든 행사에 이같은 감정이 깃들게 하여라.”

그러자 천사가 그들에게 말하였다. “두려워하지 마라. 보라, 나는 온 백성에게 큰 기쁨이 될 소식을 너희에게 전한다. 오늘 너희를 위하여 다윗 고을에서 구원자가 태어나셨으니, 주 그리스도이시다. 너희는 포대기에 싸여 구유에 누워 있는 아기를 보게 될 터인데, 그것이 너희를 위한 표징이다.” 그때에 갑자기 그 천사 곁에 수많은 하늘의 군대가 나타나 하느님을 이렇게 찬미하였다. “지극히 높은 곳에서는 하느님께 영광 땅에서는 그분 마음에 드는 사람들에게 평화!”

크리스마스 이브

저는 (모린) 또다시 하느님 아버지의 성심이라고 알게 된 큰 불꽃을 봅니다. 하느님 아버지께서 말씀하십니다. “자녀들아, 현 순간 일어나는 모든 일은 곧 나의 뜻이라는 사실을 깨달아라. 나의 아들은 여관에 묵을 방이 없었다는 점, 축축한 마구간, 그리고 구유를 아기 침대로 쓰는 그런 어려움들 가운데 태어났다. 이는 불가능에서도 승리가 나올 수 있다는 점을 증명한 것이다. 나는 그가 궁전에서 태어나는 것을 원할 수도 있었지만, 그의 삶은 희생으로서 시작하고 희생으로서 끝나야만 했다.”

“나의 뜻은 그 구유의 온 주변 곧, 어둠과 습기와 추위를 둘러싸고 있었다. 마리아와 요셉은 이 점을 이해하였으며. 마음속에 사랑을 품고 불가능한 상황들을 받아들였다.”

“요즘 시대에 나의 뜻은 승리는 물론 패배에서도 나타난다. 모든 어려움은 다 나의 뜻이다. 모든 기쁨과 실망은 나의 신성한 뜻에 대한 받아들임으로 이끈다. 이번 성탄절을 기념하기 위해 너희 마음을 준비하면서 너희의 아집의 문을 열어 나의 뜻에 대한 감사가 안으로 들어갈 수 있게 허락하여라.”

그러나 자비가 풍성하신 하느님께서는 우리를 사랑하신 그 큰 사랑으로, 잘못을 저질러 죽었던 우리를 그리스도와 함께 살리셨습니다. ─ 여러분은 이렇게 은총으로 구원을 받은 것입니다. ─

그들이 거기에 머무르는 동안 마리아는 해산 날이 되어, 첫아들을* 낳았다. 그들은 아기를 포대기에 싸서 구유에 뉘었다. 여관에는 그들이 들어갈 자리가 없었던 것이다.

* 맏아들 (first-born): 아들의 사회적 지위와 상속 권리에 관련된 법률 용어 (신명 21:15-17 참조). 이것은 마리아에게 예수님 다음으로 다른 자녀들이 있었다는 의미가 아니라 예수님 전에는 어떤 자녀도 없었다는 뜻입니다 (교리서 제500조항). 예수님께서는 성부의 외아들이시기 때문에 성부의 맏아들도 되십니다 (요한 1:18, 콜로 1:15 참조. 마태 12:46 주석 참조).

Christmas Eve

Once again, I (Maureen) see a Great Flame that I have come to know as the Heart of God the Father. He says: "Children, this is the advent of the Birth of My Son.  I invite you to stand with Me next to the humble manger which Joseph prepared for My Infant Son.  Observe the holy composure of Mother Mary who welcomes the Newborn King with love and reverence beyond compare.  Not a cry does the Divine Infant make, but looks lovingly into the depths of the eyes of His Mother."

"It is as though time stands still.  Even the silence seems to pay homage to the Little Infant.  Then, the realms of Heavenly Choirs are heard all around.  Eternity seems to have come to earth in that stable.  All there is is contentment and awe.  Even the surroundings are transformed when He comes.  There is no cold, no foul odors, no darkness.  The animals even seem to pay Him homage."

"I share this moment with you as a gift to help you celebrate the awesomeness of this occasion.  Let it take dominion over all your celebrations this season."

And the angel said to them, "Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.  And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger."  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased!"

Christmas Eve

Once again, I (Maureen) see a Great Flame that I have come to know as the Heart of God the Father. He says: "Children, understand that My Will is one with all that takes place in the present moment. My Son* was born amongst the difficulties of no room in the inn, a dank stable and a manger for a crib as a way of proving victory can arise from the impossible. I could have willed that He be born in a palace, however, His Life began as a sacrifice and was meant to end as a sacrifice."

"My Will was all around that manger, the darkness, the damp and cold. Mary and Joseph understood this and accepted the impossible circumstances with love in their hearts."

"These days, My Will is reflected in victories as well as defeats. Every challenge is My Will. Every joy and disappointment leads the way to acceptance of My Divine Will. As you prepare your hearts to celebrate this Christmas season, open the door of your self-will and allow appreciation of My Will to enter in."

But God, who is rich in mercy, out of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

And while they were there, the time came for her to be delivered. And she gave birth to her first-born* son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

* 2:7 first-born: A legal term linked with a son's social standing and rights of inheritance (Deut 21:15-17). It does not imply that Mary had other children after Jesus, only that she had none before him (CCC 500). As the only begotten One, Jesus is also the first-born Son of the Father (Jn 1:18; Col 1:15). See note on Mt 12:46.
